Hello! Thank you for checking in with Soul & Tell. My name is Hadley Boyd and I am a published fiction writer and professional business writer. Currently, I serve as the Communications and Public Outreach Coordinator for the First Selectman of Wilton, CT, otherwise known as the mayor. Before then, I spent many years fundraising for some of New York's most beloved cultural institutions, like WNYC Public Radio and The Wooster Group, writing grants and directing special donor events. I've also written grants for a wide variety of public service non-profits. Beyond grant writing, I've created course materials for webinars and in-person seminars, promotional copy for businesses, and have crafted speeches, correspondence and conference materials for heads of organizations. The Soul, in Soul & Tell, comes from my years as an actor, learning how to use language and emotion to tell an impactful story. The Tell is how I put that knowledge into practice to promote your business. Please get in touch and let's talk!

CORRESPONDENCE WRITTEN ON BEHALF OF THE DIRECTOR OF THE LEAGUE OF PROFESSIONAL THEATRE WOMEN
On behalf of the League of Professional Theatre Women, please accept our profound condolences on the passing of your wife, the legendary Dina Merrill.
It has been said that to whom much is given, much is expected, and Ms. Merrill, with all of her gifts and graces, shared herself unstintingly with the world around her. We, at the League, are so grateful for her work on Broadway, in television and on film, but the country as a whole is better off because of her tireless efforts with the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the Paley Media Center, the New York City Mission Society, the Kennedy Center and so many other organizations.
She embodied the spirit of the League as someone who broke with convention to create a longstanding career for herself in a male dominated industry. And we love her for always honoring her roots in the theatre. Her leadership at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, Guild Hall (now the Dina Merrill Pavilion), and the Kennedy Center means that these great venues will exist for American theatre artists for generations to come.
Your loss of Ms. Merrill must feel tremendous, but we hope you are able to take pride in the legacy she leaves behind. Theatre women everywhere have a larger stage to work with because Dina Merrill was here first.
EXCERPT FROM AN EDUCATIONAL GRANT WRITTEN FOR THE WOOSTER GROUP
"TWG’s layered performance style incorporates several artistic mediums, and is guided by a collaborative aesthetic. Our work with the students of M.S. 131 focuses on the same fundamental ideas of sharing and cooperation. Rapport between our company and the students is built through improvisational theater games that allow each child an opportunity for individual expression while feeling the support of a group dynamic. Students are encouraged to explore all components of production (video, writing, directing and performing), and are provided a model with which to create their own performance material. At the end of the term, each class that works with The Wooster Group gives a final presentation of their work for other teachers and students and invited parents.
In the Spring session, The Wooster Group worked with eighth grade English as a Second Language classes on creating haikus that were accompanied by gestural movement sequences. These gestures were generated out of a grammar
Under The Wooster Group’s guidance, the students in the seventh grade social studies class wrote and produced “Instant T.V.” a television
